Indian classical music is built on cycles — the tala, the raga, the tabla. Patterns that repeat and evolve over hours. Sound familiar? House music runs on the same principle. Cultural House takes the tabla, the sitar, the tanpura drone and places them exactly where they belong — over a deep bassline at two in the morning.
Barakah is the Arabic word for blessing — the same energy that IRE carries in Yoruba. Arabic music is built on maqam scales, microtonal melodies that bend between notes Western music cannot reach. When those scales meet house music, something spiritual happens on the dancefloor. Cultural House chases that feeling.
The Caribbean is where African music survived colonisation and became something new. Reggae, soca, dancehall, calypso — all of it rooted in the same percussion that left the continent centuries ago. Cultural House honours that survival by bringing Caribbean rhythms into the present — warm, joyful, unstoppable.
We are still building this. Here is what we know so far.
